Sports & Senior Portrait Photography in Rochester NY

Over the course of this year’s senior portrait photography season here in the Rochester NY area, I met up with high school seniors who didn’t just want to have their picture taken, but wanted to capture who and what they’re about. Sports and athletics are a huge part of life and growing up and define a lot of kids lives. So what better to incorporate into your senior portraits than the sports you love and are passionate about! This photoBLOG post features a couple of senior athletes who did just that with their love of sports. Up first, we’ll meet Ryan, a Marcus Whitman High School Senior and baseball lifer. He’s been playing ball literally, since he was a toddler. So where else would we take his senior portraits then on his home baseball field just outside of Canandaigua NY (not too far from our Rochester base), where he grew up.

I didn’t just want to get photos of Ryan holding baseball equipment in his portraits…we had to put it to good use in a few action shots of him pitching the ball and sliding into base.

We took a break from the baseball photos to get a few portraits of Ryan in a nearby field and against a great brick wall too…

The 2nd athletic high school senior to feature sports in his senior pictures was Justin, a golf fanatic with quite the swing. Justin told me he tries to get to the course everyday and spent most of his free time over the summer on the golf course at Brooklea Country Club here in Rochester. So it was an obvious choice to head to the golf course to take his senior portraits on the green.

Quite the golf swing that Justin has. I really liked how you can see the turf as well as the ball in the air in the shot below…
